 Andrographis Paniculata: King Of Bitters, the leaf part of our formula!

This plant and its leaves are so bitter that in many regional languages they did not even attempt to name it! It is commonly known as Kariyatu or Kalmegh which simply means 'King of bitters'! The herb is native to India and Sri Lanka and is widely cultivated in southern Asia as well. It has been widely and effectively used in traditional Ayurveda and Asian medicines for centuries.

Andrographis Paniculata is one of the most popular medicinal plants used traditionally for the treatment for array of diseases such as cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, ulcer, leprosy, bronchitis, skin diseases, flatulence, colic, influenza, dysentery, dyspepsia, and malaria for centuries in Asia, America, and Africa continents

Most common uses in Ayurveda medicinal healing:

Digestive issues like diarrhea, constipation, hemorrhoids, intestinal gas, colic, and stomach pain, loss of appetite.

Andrographis is also used as an astringent, bacteria killing agent and a painkiller.

Skin conditions including wounds, ulcers, and itchiness. Other uses include treatment of snake and insect bites.

Respiratory issues like asthma, sore throat, coughs, swollen tonsils, bronchitis, and allergies. Colds, flu, sinusitis and to treat infectious diseases like leprosy, pneumonia, tuberculosis, gonorrhea, syphilis, malaria, cholera, leptospirosis, rabies, HIV/AIDS

For kidney and liver conditions including an enlarged liver, jaundice, and liver damage due to medications.

It is also used for “hardening of the arteries” (atherosclerosis), and prevention of heart disease and diabetes.

It possesses several photochemical constituents with unique and interesting biological properties.
